Foot Orthotics and Shoe Inserts for Knee Pain

Patellofemoral pain (knee pain) can occur in one or both knees and it is one of the most common causes of knee pain. Patellofemoral pain is felt in the front of the knee and occurs when the patella is compressed against the femoral groove. The compression forces increase the further the knee is bent and as a result pain usually increases as well. Therefore, patellofemoral pain may be made worse by activities that involve repetitive bending of the knee. Pain is often felt going up or down stairs or after sitting for long periods of time. Patellofemoral pain can be accompanied by "clicking" or "grinding" and sometimes by a feeling that the knee "catches" or wants to "give way".The primary cause of knee pain is over pronation.

Advantage of orthotics: Orthotics will control the amount of over pronation and thus reduce the pain associated with this condition.

Recommended Product

Dr Foot's Sports Insoles

Dr Foot's Sport Insoles provide extra longitudinal support and cushioning for runners, plus lateral support for tennis, football and aerobics. Forefoot extensions prevent movement of the insert, which is important during sporting activities. Ideal for patients seeking arch support for prevention and treatment of knee pain and general knee strain.

The ideal insole for complete foot support, comfort, correct posture and mechanics. Dr Foot's insole is a unique foot support system intended to help relieve knee pain, while preventing foot strain and injury. A full-length, prescription like arch support prevents and treats foot pain. The result: control for feet rolling inward (over-pronation), which can pull the entire lower body out of alignment. A special fabric cover reduces slippage and heat, helping keep feet drier.

Testimonial

"I received a pair of the Dr Foot Sports insoles after ordering them from the net and I have been alternating them between my normal shoes and my running shoes. I run 10k events all year round. Last night I grabbed one of my pairs of shoes, but left the insoles in another pair of shoes that I was running in on Saturday. I ran for 3 hours and when I came home, my feet, knees, and quadriceps were hurting. They are still sore today. I did not realize how much of a difference the insoles made on my body. This is the first time that I have had any pain after running since I have used them. I guess that I need to get a few more pairs for all of my shoes that I run in. Thank you."
